“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
— Matthew 11:28-30
This Labor Day weekend, I invite you all to enjoy this long weekend celebrating in rest. Our world moves at such a fast pace that sometimes we forget to slow down and appreciate the fruit of our labor. Our vocations can take a toll on our mind, body, and spirit, but Jesus assures us that there is rest for the weary and that we do not walk this journey of life alone.
When our spirits become heavy, Jesus is waiting with open arms to help carry those burdens. Go to the Lord in prayer. Take a break from this world by setting your phone down for a little while. Listen to the calling of the birds in the trees. Gaze up at the magnitude of the sky and remember that even though you are so very small in comparison, the Lord knows you, loves you, and cares for you.

You welcome me into Your restAt all times, In all ways — You offer me a Home
A place of refuge, A safe haven,
An oasis of peace, A covering of mercy,
A hymn of praise, A way to be freeA mantle of grace
