There is something so beautifully sacred about the feeling of “coming home.”
As I sat gazing across the treetops of the valley below from the look out at Beersheba Springs Assembly, I could not help but feel the presence of God. I thought back to the past few months and said a prayer of joy and thanksgiving for the way in which God has moved in my life. I am so thankful for the ways that Sparta First UMC has welcomed my family and myself. I am so glad that I have this feeling of being home at church and in Sparta. And I am so grateful that my journey in life led me to be the pastor of this wonderful church who now feels more like family.
As we move and grow together, I ask each of you to search your hearts to discern if there might be a spiritual gift that you possess that you would like to share with the church. Are you feeling a call to start or help with a certain ministry (worship, UWF, youth, older adult ministries, Bible study, mission work, etc.)? Are you feeling led to volunteer your time with already established programs or something brand new? Are you thinking about being Baptized or joining the church? Or you might have other questions or ideas you would like to share. If the response in your soul when reading these questions left you with a stirring of interest, please reach out to me or someone in the church to see about furthering your journey with God and Sparta First UMC. We are excited about what Christ can do through us as a church family!
Thank you to all of you for making Sparta, TN feel like home.
God is so good. All the time.
Pastor Amber
